Hi!
Welcome to Therapy Talks, a comprehensive provider of mental healthcare services, led by Queenie Amado, a licensed professional counselor based in Oklahoma. With a deep passion for the transformative power of conversation, I specialize in helping individuals find healing, personal growth, and clarity through meaningful discussions about life.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and collaboration, tailored to help clients navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, addiction, mood disturbances, work-life balance, and crisis management. I utilize evidence-based methods, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy, to support your journey toward wellness.
At Therapy Talks, I believe in setting clear, achievable goals from the very first session. These goals are developed collaboratively and adjusted as needed to ensure we share a unified vision for your success. You’ll find me approachable, unbiased, and deeply committed to mental health, with an understanding of the feelings of being misunderstood or mentally displaced.
In addition to talk therapy, Therapy Talks offers various supportive services, including emotional support animal assessments, brief counseling sessions, wellness assessments, and referrals. These services take a holistic approach to mental healthcare, addressing both immediate and long-term needs. As a remote counseling platform, Therapy Talks is designed to provide flexible, accessible care, while fostering collaboration with other providers for comprehensive support.
Let’s start the conversation that leads to healing, growth, and meaningful change.

The Mental Health Benefits of Having Pets in Our Lives
Pets bring more than just joy to our homes—they can also have profound effects on our mental well-being. Here’s how they can make a difference:
Stress Relief: Spending time with pets has been shown to reduce stress and promote a sense of calm, contributing to improved overall well-being.
Companionship: Pets provide unconditional love and support, helping to ease feelings of loneliness and offering a steady source of emotional connection.
Fostering Social Connections: Whether it’s meeting other pet owners at the park or breaking the ice in social settings, pets can encourage interaction and reduce social anxiety and isolation.
Building Relationship Skills: The bond with a pet teaches trust, empathy, and confidence, helping improve social skills and deepen human relationships.
Encouraging Physical Activity: Activities like walking, playing, or exercising with your pet not only keep you active but also enhance physical health and emotional resilience.
Positive Brain Chemistry: Caring for a pet, especially a dog, can trigger chemical changes in the brain, such as increased levels of oxytocin, which promotes happiness and bonding.
Cultivating Healthy Habits: Pets often inspire routines that support mental health, such as regular exercise, outdoor activities, and a greater focus on self-care—habits that can alleviate symptoms of depression.
Having a pet in your life isn’t just a lifestyle choice; it’s a pathway to emotional growth, healthier living, and stronger connections. Explore how your furry love can enrich your mental health today!
